Zombie Games for Android: Shooters, Runners and Tower Defense

Four ways to play a zombie game

Zombies are a flexible enemy. They work as targets in a shooter, as a swarm you control in a runner, as a wave you hold back in a tower defense, and even as a catch and sell business. That is why one tag on a phone can contain such different experiences, and why knowing the style matters more than the theme. If you want fear and atmosphere rather than action, jump to horror or survival horror.

How to choose your zombie style

Choose the runner for one thumb sessions and a lighter mood. Choose the shooter if you want tension, aiming and weapons to upgrade, and be ready for blood and darker scenes. Choose the lawn defense game if you prefer planning, since you win by placing the right units, not by quick reflexes. Choose the catching game if you like collecting and managing resources.

Before you install

Check the minimum Android version and the download size shown on the card. Shooters with detailed graphics are usually the largest and the hardest on older phones, while runners and defense games are lighter. Some of them download extra data on first launch, so keep a connection and enough free space. Most single player modes run offline, but events, rankings and cloud saves need internet.

MOD builds typically unlock money, coins or other in game currency, which speeds up weapons, plants or equipment. That can make a long grind shorter, but it may also remove the challenge you came for. A modified client can fail to connect to online services, and an official update may break it, so keep the original APK. Always download from sources you trust and see the guides if installation is new to you.

More to explore

Fans of defending a base should check tower defense, and fans of the shooting side can open shooter. Everything else lives in games and the MOD list.
